Job Description

Situated in the residential area of Davenport, Stockport, Davenport Manor is a long established residential home with a reputation for quality care and comfort.

The home is located in its own secluded grounds with ample parking facilities. Local shops, Davenport railway station, bus routes and a park are all within easy walking distance.

We provide residential accommodation for the elderly who may require varying levels of support and care ranging from basic support for daily activities to those with dementia. Provision is made for long or short term care. The home provides a perfect setting where one may recover from recent illness or an operation.

Our philosophy of care is to provide the highest quality of care to meet the needs of the individual through our well trained staff and facilities. From the initial assessment to ongoing reviews our continued evaluation ensures the best possible care. An electronic care records system facilitates timely and accurate record keeping and also serves to support staff in delivering a person centered care to residents.

We are seeking to recruit a Care Assistant who shares our outlook and who wishes to further develop her/his own skills, to join our staff team



The position requires working 36 hours a week. The shifts may be variable or, by agreement, compressed hours.

Responsibilities include:

Providing the highest level of personal care (bathing, washing, toileting, etc)

Be involved in the planning and delivering a personalised experience for every resident

Participate in developing/reviewing care plans for residents

Act as a Key Worker for a named group of residents

To understand and comply with all the statutory and legal requirements which are relevant, such as Health and Safety, COSH and all aspects of the Care Standards Act, to maintain a safe environment throughout the Home

Requirements of a Care Assistant:



Warm, friendly and caring disposition

Good communication skills, able to put others at ease

Be able to work and contribute within a team

Preferably have a NVQ/QCF Level 2, or equivalent, in social care

Have previous experience of working in the care sector carrying out similar duties
