Job Description

We are excited to be recruiting for a Care Assistant (18 hours per week) to join our friendly team at Oaklea Convent, Sunderland, which is home to the Sisters of Mercy and managed by SJOG Hospitaller Services.

We pride ourselves on supporting the people who use our services in such a way to enable them to live as independently and dignified a life as possible in their home, so it is essential that a quality driven and holistic service is maintained at all times.

Essential Criteria:

Actively support the vision, philosophies and values of the Charity and that of the Sisters of Mercy

Able to work as part of a team Able to provide personal care Good communication skills Participate where necessary in social activities, outings/holidays with people using the service Maintain confidentiality, honesty and reliability Non-discriminatory and respect for cultural and religious heritage of all people Able to work flexible hours over a 24/7 period
