Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing quality care to individuals. This role involves supporting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being.

Duties



Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes in health status. to the nurse on charge Support individuals with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life, including memory care activities for those with Alzheimer's or dementia. Utilize equipment for safe patient transfers when necessary. Document patient observations and care provided in compliance with care plans and organizational policies. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.

Qualifications



Experience in a nursing home care setting is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus. Strong skills in patient observation and monitoring are essential for this role. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. A background in nursing or social work may be advantageous but is not required. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of education as a minimum. A minimum of 12 months experience within care of the elderly.
