Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes or their own homes, assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients in following their care plans to ensure their individual needs are met. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care needs. Assist with mobility and transportation, including driving clients to appointments if required. Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations. Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential. Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Basic IT skills for documentation purposes are advantageous.
