Overview



To positively contribute to the successful delivery of a high-quality standard of person-centred care

by visiting people in their own homes and assisting them with household tasks, personal care, and

with a variety of care duties, observing and respecting their dignity, privacy and promoting their

independence.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Care Worker to join our team in providing compassionate care to individuals . The role involves assisting residents with daily living activities and ensuring their well-being.

Duties


Assisting service user with the following:

Personal Care:

Dressing and undressing / preparing the service user for Day Care or trips out. Washing / bathing / showering / shaving / grooming / cleaning teeth. Hair Care (mating /brushing). Toileting and all aspects of personal hygiene. Continence management. Care of pressure sores (under appropriate nursing supervision). Getting in and out of bed. Assisting with the use of Aids to Daily Living / Rehabilitation Aids, as required. Helping with rehabilitation programmes, as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Day / evening / night sitting services, as required.
Medication

Assisting the service user to take prescribed medication.
Dietary Care:

Preparation of snacks and meals according to the service user's likes / dislikes. Assisting with feeding, as required.
Domestic / Household Services:

General cleaning duties, to include cleaning / dusting / vacuuming / polishing. Bed-making Clearing refuse and rubbish Laundering / Handwashing / Ironing / Light needlework, as required. Fuel Management. Shopping, and the preparation of shopping lists and assistance with budgeting. Light gardening tasks (subject to agreement at the Care Plan stage).
Personal services:

Assistance with personal finances, to include paying bills, collecting pensions. Personal planning (birthdays / anniversaries etc) Democratic rights (voting cards etc).
In addition you will:

Conform to all Policies and Procedures laid down by the Organisation in respect of carrying
out these Care Duties and in other administrative aspects of the business, as relevant.

Participate as directed by the Domiciliary Care Services Manager / Supervisor in Induction
Training and regular In-service Training programmes.

Maintain accurate, concise and timely records of service user care, diary sheets, time sheets
and mileage sheets.

Participate in Staff, Team and Quality Management Review Meetings as directed by the
Domiciliary Care Services Manager / Supervisor.

Report back to the Domiciliary Care Services Manager / Supervisor on any aspect of service
user care which he / she feels warrants investigation or urgent action.

Participate in reviews of service users' Care Plans as required. Be aware of the tasks and activities which must NOT be undertaken as part of care duties, as set out in Policy 01-1005: Duties Not to be Undertaken.

Person Specification:



Relevant experience/training and/or qualifications - such as NVQ Level 2/Health and Social Care or other relevant care qualifications are preferred but are not essential; however, a
willingness to gain such qualifications later is desired.

A minimum of 6 months of experience in a Domiciliary care setting is preferred; those
without a healthcare experience but with a willingness to learn will also be considered.

Candidates must have a valid DBS or be willing to register with the DBS Service.

Driving Licence holders preferred but transport is available (at a fee of 20 per day)

Candidates must be physically fit (physical strength)

Qualifications



NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)

Any other relevant care qualifications (care standards, CNA, etc).

IELTS UKVI test result with a minimum score of 4 in all categories/ or NARIC.

A valid police clearance from the countries you've resided within the last 10 years.

Must be able in work in Shifts of 12 hours/ 8 hours/ Day shift /Night shift /Overnight shift -Previous experience in a care home or similar setting is desirable
- Ability to follow care plans and provide high-quality care to residents

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.70-13.00 per hour
