To provide administrative support to the Clinical Coding and Pharmacy teams, ensuring accurate data entry, coding of clinical information, and support in the processing of medication-related tasks. The post-holder will play a key role in supporting safe, effective, and high-quality patient care by assisting with both administrative tasks across these two departments.

Duties can include but are not limited to:-
Clinical Coding Support
Assist Clinical Coders with screening and filing documents to the clinical records.
Ensure accurate recording of clinical data using relevant clinical coding systems (e.g., SNOMED CT).
Input, update and maintain clinical records in line with practice policies and national guidelines.
Liaise with clinicians to clarify or query entries where necessary.
Summarising patient paper records as required
Pharmacy Technician Support
Assist the pharmacy team in administrative tasks.
Support the medication review process by identifying patient's due reviews and following practice protocol.
Assist in updating medication records and managing alerts or tasks in the clinical system (e.g., prescribing indicators, safety alerts).
Help in preparing audit data or patient searches related to prescribing.
General Administrative Duties
Maintain confidentiality of all patient and practice information.
Contribute to data quality improvement by accurately maintaining patient records.
Participate in team meetings and training as required.
Work flexibly across both departments depending on workload and priorities.
Coordinate patient reviews for medication optimisation, particularly for high-risk medications and polypharmacy cases.* Support Pharmacy Technician in medication audits, recalls, and safety monitoring (e.g., blood tests for patients on DMARDs, anticoagulants).* Manage call/recall systems for structured medication reviews and chronic disease management.*
Assist with administrative support for medication reviews, shared care protocols, and medicines use evaluations

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
Experience
Experience working with the public in a similar role
Experience working in a health care setting
Experience working in the NHS/Primary Care General Practice setting
Understanding of community services and personalised care
Experience of managing a complex administrative role
Experience of producing agendas and minutes for meetings
Previous experience working as a clinical coder
knowledge of medication processors
