We're looking for a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our team at Danygraig Care Home. If you enjoy preparing hearty, home-cooked meals and want a role where your work really makes a difference, this could be the perfect fit.
About Danygraig
Danygraig is a 48-bed residential care home set in a Grade II listed building overlooking the Bristol Channel. We provide high-quality care for adults living with dementia and mental health conditions in a welcoming, supportive environment where residents feel at home.
Your Role
As our Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing tasty and nutritious meals for our residents, catering to a range of dietary needs while keeping mealtimes enjoyable and homely.
Key duties include:
Preparing daily home-cooked meals, desserts, cakes, and pastries
Working within set menus while adapting to residents' preferences and needs
Ensuring meals are safe and appropriate for dietary requirements (allergen awareness essential)
Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in the kitchen
Managing stock efficiently
Being flexible and willing to cover overtime when needed
What We're Looking For
? Previous experience in a care home, school, or catering environment (preferred)
? Knowledge of food hygiene and dietary needs (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate desirable)
? Ability to cook wholesome, home-style meals with attention to detail
? Organised, reliable, and able to work on your own initiative
? Flexible to work a rota including weekends and bank holidays
