About the role:



At St Augustine's we provide holistic care for

52 residents

, including those living with dementia, in a warm, supportive environment guided by our values of compassion, dignity, and respect.

Your role as a Deputy Manager



Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring residents receive safe, person-centred care. You'll support and develop our team to deliver outstanding care, that promotes dignity, comfort, and independence. At the same time you will maintain high standards of compliance, and create a warm, welcoming environment for residents and their families.

Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the safe and effective operation of the home. Work with the Head of Care to ensure the safe handling, storage, and administration of medicines. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing care team through regular supervisions, appraisals, and training. Ensure digital care plans are accurate, regularly reviewed, and reflective of residents' individual needs. Monitor staffing levels and rostering to ensure safe and effective cover at all times. Maintain robust compliance records and lead on audits in line with CQC, Health & Safety, and internal policies. Support with training and competency assessments for staff in areas including medication and care planning. Promote a safe, respectful, and positive working environment, aligned with our organisational values. Actively contribute to the continuous development of the home and its services.

About you



You are an organised, compassionate, and proactive leader with a strong background in elderly care. You have a genuine passion to make a positive difference in the lives of older people. You understand the importance of both high-quality care and strong team leadership, and you are confident in compliance, care planning, and staff development.

Essential requirements:



Current residency in the UK with a valid right to work.

NVQ Level 4

in Health & Social Care (or equivalent). 2 years of management experience in a dementia residential care setting. Strong knowledge of current care standards and relevant legislation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experienced in mentoring, developing, and leading care teams Strong IT skills, including digital care planning, eMAR, and rostering systems. Experience in developing, reviewing, and monitoring care plans. Previous experience managing staff rotas. Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and on-call when required.
