The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an Interim Manager to lead and support our dedicated care team during a transitional period. This is a hands-on leadership role offering the chance to make a meaningful difference, ensure continuity of quality care, and maintain the smooth day-to-day operation of the home.
This interim role is ideal for someone with strong leadership experience in adult social care, particularly within residential settings, who can provide stability, guidance, and effective oversight during this time.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the daily operations of Westbourne Care Home, ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.
Provide visible leadership on the floor and in a supernumerary capacity, including:
Supervising and supporting care staff
Audit medication
Audit care plans
Conducting audits to maintain compliance and high standards
Carry out comprehensive needs and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records (both digital and manual)
Foster effective communication with residents, families, staff, and external professionals
Support and oversee staff development, supervision, training, and performance management
Act as the main point of contact for families and external agencies during the interim period
Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure continuity of care and service improvement
What We're Looking For:
NVQ Level 4 (minimum) in Health and Social Care or equivalent
2 Year of Management experience
Previous experience in a Deputy, Interim, or Registered Manager role within a care home or similar setting
Experience with PCS and ATLAS software
Strong understanding of CQC standards and adult social care regulations
Excellent organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead by example, supporting and motivating the team effectively
A hands-on approach with genuine compassion for older people
Desirable:
Unpinned nurse qualification or experience managing clinical needs in a residential setting
