Care Lead

Exeter, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Care Lead, Parkland House - 42 hours per week, to include alternate weekends. 14.50, 14.75 per hour at weekends.

Leadership with Heart. Care with Purpose.

This role is more than just guidance - it's about stepping up with compassion, wisdom and commitment.

As a Care Lead, you'll be the backbone of our care team: someone who can lead, inspire and ensure every resident receives the dignity, respect and warmth they deserve... no matter how challenging the day.

This work is hard, but it's also deeply human, endlessly rewarding, and full of moments that remind you exactly why you chose this path.

What you'll do:

Lead, support and mentor a team of Care assistants, being the calm, confident presence they rely on.

Spend half your time

Champion our values of CARE (Committed, Ambition, Responsible, Embracing) in everything you do.

Oversee care delivery across shifts: Update and maintain electronic care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they reflect the evolving needs of each individual, from pre-admission onward.

Be an advocate - listen to residents, understand their preferences, and ensure care is truly person-centred.

Use the eMAR system to manage the safe administration of medication, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines.

Collaborate closely with managers, healthcare professionals, and families to maintain high standards of well-being and safety.

Step in hands-on: from personal care, emotional support, to the small gestures that make home feel like home.

Who you are:

Someone with proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within residential care.

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).

Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to lead by example - calm under pressure, grounded in empathy.

Passionate about delivering high-quality care, continually learning, and helping others grow.

What we offer:

A team that listens, supports, and values your voice.

Fully paid training and plenty of career progression opportunities

Induction programme with a dedicated mentor to help you feel supported and comfortable in your new role

Free DBS check and auto-enrolment pension

The use of 'Flex Earn' enabling you to access wages earnt in advance of pay day, viewing earnt wages in real time

Blue Light Card eligibility - discounts on retail, eating out, and more!

Free meals provided when working long shifts

Access to Peninsula Care Homes Mental Health First Aider; an external Confidential Care helpline for you and your family members; Peninsula Care Home's 'Whycare?' app and Refer a Friend scheme (earn money for bringing your friends on board!)

The joy of being part of someone's final chapter - and making sure it's filled with comfort, respect, and love.

This is more than a step up. It's a step deeper - into work that matters, with people who care.

If you're ready to lead with both strength and compassion, we'd love to welcome you.
