Our Care Manager supports the (Dual) Registered Manager in providing care for young people with a mental health and associated learning disabilities and emotional & behavioural difficulties. To deputise as manager in RM's absence.

Job Summary:
As the
Care Manager
for the Children's Home, some of your duties will be:
To support the Registered Manager to facilitate the achievement of excellent outcomes for young people following key principles of residential childcare in line with Children's Homes Regulations including the quality standards April 2015, safeguarding children according to Working Together to Safeguard Children and provide robust management support which meets and goes above and beyond of the Leadership and Management Standard.
To always retain confidentiality within the boundaries of GDPR and Safeguarding principles.
To understand and follow all Care Perspectives Limited's policies and procedures.
Be accountable for your own standard of practice, maintain integrity, professionalism and objectivity.
To provide leadership and management of the home in support of the Registered Manager.
To be responsible for the overall day to day running of the services
To provide on call support as part of a On Call System.
To maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, incl. The Quality Standards, Every Child Matters, the Children Act, other relevant legislation and guidance and company policy and procedure.
To support the manage to manage the home to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people.
To support the manager to manage the home's staff team.
To support to manage a quality service aiming to achieve a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating.
To represent the home to outside agencies and ensure compliance with the statutory requirements imposed by them and requirements of commissioners.
To work with the wider management team to contribute to the planning and development of Care Perspectives and to provide management support to other areas of the service needing this.
To increase and maintain occupancy levels that both appropriate with the business needs of the service and needs of the young people placed.

Qualification & Experience
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 years' Experience in Residential childcare, two of which should be at managerial level
Detailed understanding of Children's Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Children's Homes (Wales) Regulations 2002 (amended 2007), Health and Safety Requirements, Equal Opportunities, Working Together to Safeguard Children A guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children 2018 Anti-Discriminatory Practice, and other relevant legislation
Relevant experience in the specialist area of the service i.e. relevant experience of working with children and young people with autistic spectrum disorders, learning disability, trauma and mental health and resultant behaviours' that may challenge
Experience of Ofsted procedures / inspections
Full UK Driving License
Desirable Skills
Good IT Skills
Managing budgets effectively and ensuring cost efficiency
Evidence of essential qualification will be required prior to employment commencing: Professional social work
qualification: Dip SW CQSW or equivalent or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and
Management for Residential Childcare (England)(QCF) or the equivalent
predecessor qualification in England/Wales for the role
