About the role



Provide personalised, respectful clinical care to guests, supporting their involvement in treatment and optimising health during detox and rehabilitation. Assist the Nursing team in delivering care while ensuring the organisation's treatment philosophy is followed safely, effectively, and in line with legal requirements.

Major accountabilities



To monitor the physical and emotional well-being of all guests to be aware of changes and to alert senior colleagues as necessary. To undertake clinical skills with guests such as, performing ECG'S, vitals signs monitoring (NEWS2), medication chaperone, venepuncture, capillary blood glucose, urine drugs screens, urinalysis, breathalyser tests, uploading of results. To facilitate health promotion one to ones and small group work including but not limited to smoking cessation, mens'/womens' health, health benefits of nutrition/hydration To enable guests are safeguarded appropriately. To support the Nurses to monitor the detoxification and general healthcare needs of all guests. To perform intentional rounding. To perform care plan reviews and add updates when required. Diarise daily tasks that need completing. To support good clinical governance adhering to robust and timely incident reporting in the occurrence of an untoward/unexpected event. To attend to and assist guests in achieving a high standard of physical care, meeting nutritional/hydration needs, hygiene, appearance, and good routine. To appropriately document and evidence the care provided to a high standard. To observe strict confidentiality in respect of any information regarding guests. To work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team. To support safe infection prevention and control measures as well as the housekeeping function at Delamere by completing set domestic tasks during the night shift.

Experience & Knowledge



Experience with working in a team and independently Experience working in a clinical/health setting within a regulated environment. Knowledge of addiction treatment sector and mental health is desirable Experience in completing physical observations and conducting clinical skills. Completed studies into care sector (Care Certificate) desirable Good Communication skills are essential Experience delivering health promotion to patients (desirable) May need to administer first aid in emergency situations. Level 2 counselling (desirable-or willing to undertake)

Good interpersonal skills including confidence in written and verbal communication skills Passionate about delivering health promotion information to small groups of guests. Proven ability to manage day-to-day activities within the context of longer-term strategic goals. An excellent team player who sets maintains high standards, motivates and supports colleagues, promoting personal development Ability to build positive and productive relationships with healthcare professionals Being proactive on shift and identify areas for growth and improvement. Some confidence with computer working. Willingness to learn. Ability to complete necessary clinical skills such as venepuncture, capillary blood glucose monitoring, ECG, urinalysis and UDS. Able to risk assess and identify clinical needs to enable care planning.

Pay: 14.42 per hour

Expected hours: 36.75 per week
