To take joint responsibility, as part of the staff team, for promoting, through high standards of professional practice, a caring and stimulating environment, meeting the physical, emotional, and social needs of adults with learning disabilities.
Principle Responsibilities:
1. To support residents with their personal care needs, showing an awareness of resident's dignity and supporting their independence.
2. To enable residents to participate in leisure and social activities, both within the home and in the community.
3. To plan and implement teaching programmes for residents, in a manner consistent with their culture, gender and age, and to complete relevant records promptly and accurately.
4. To ensure that residents' living accommodation is respected as their home.
5. To administer prescribed medication and to complete medication records accurately.
6. To ensure that all residents' personal property, including their finances, are respected and appropriately used.
7. To complete all other relevant documentation promptly and accurately.
8. To act as a keyworker for individual residents.
9. To take part in staff training, as requested.
10. To prepare meals, with the involvement of residents where appropriate.
11. To undertake domestic duties within the home, such as cleaning, washing and ironing, involving residents as appropriate.
12. To manage challenging behaviour, following established procedures and guidelines
13. To show an awareness of the health and safety of residents and others, at all times.
14. To be able to take residents out on drives.
15. To carry out any other reasonable duties, as requested
