Supporting our amazing residents to live independently and confidently Being a listening ear, a problem-solver, a motivator, and sometimes even a dance partner Working as part of a team that actually likes and supports each other - no, really!

At Hengoed Park, we are dedicated in providing a supportive environment for adults who may be living with Alcohol Related Brain Damage (ARBD), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Dementia, organic Mental Health and other co existing conditions.

We are committed to working collaboratively with individuals to develop personalised care and support plans that empower them to lead fulfilling and enriched lives.

Enablement is at the heart of everything we do and our H.O.P.E inspired framework serves as the foundation for this approach. Hengoed Park offers 36 bedrooms in the main building, along with an additional 8 lodges located within an enclosed walled garden. The home is nestled within 11 acres of picturesque grounds and a short distance from the market town of Oswestry.

Role Description

:

To provide high quality care and support. To provide emotional and practical support

(we all have those days when we need that little bit extra support)

To positively encourage and support our residents to be as active as then can

(although we all enjoy a sofa day sometimes!)

Maintain positive relations with families, health and social care professionals. Provide personal care when necessary To work alongside our residents who present difficult behaviours and using the skills taught to safely de-escalate the situation To ensure the on-going safety of residents, staff and visitors through compliance with Hengoed Parks policies and procedures. Completion of paperwork

(Yep!! the dreaded paperwork)

Perform medication administration and monitor health status including fluid and nutrition charts, turning regimes and blood glucose monitoring acting where necessary to reduce health complications. Report all accidents and incidents promptly ensuring that accident/incident reports are written clearly and concisely. Ensure that clinical equipment is maintained in a safe, clean and fully functional state. Report any equipment failures or damage to the Team Leader. Maintain high standards of infection control within the home and to assist residents to maintain their own infection control needs. To provide appropriate information to residents and relatives about care delivery, adhering to data protection requirements. Ensure that resident's property is cared for in a responsible and professional manner. Act as a champion for Hengoed Park through excellent communication, appropriate behaviour and professional appearance. Work within Hengoed Park's Safeguarding procedures and report any safeguarding events to your line manager immediately. Act at all times within your own skills and competence. Subscribe to and align all your work with Hengoed Park's values of humanity, collaboration, communication and outcomes. Attend regular staff meetings and one to ones adopting a pro-active approach. Provide feedback to the management team on any aspect of the working of the home. Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service managing any areas of disagreement in an collaborative manner. Adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures. Undertake relevant training and development activities and respond positively to new and alternative systems. To maintain care skills at current level and to undertake such training and development as may be required. Ensure that you contribute positively to the safeguarding culture at Hengoed Park and if you become aware of real or suspected abuse report it promptly as required by the Safeguarding procedure.
