Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team working with individuals with Learning Disabilities. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This role involves working closely with clients who have a Learning Disability in our Day Care, Home Care and Respite, to assist with daily activities and personal care.

Duties

Provide patient care and support to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their comfort and safety. Assist clients with heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury. Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences, promoting healthy eating habits. Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring adherence to medical guidelines and protocols. Engage in behaviour management strategies to support clients in maintaining positive behaviours. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in behaviour or health to the relevant professionals.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare settings is preferred. Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively. Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Relevant qualifications in healthcare or social care are advantageous.
