Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions. Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life. Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed. Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, such as those with dementia or Alzheimer's care. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel. Drive clients to appointments or social activities when necessary. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Experience

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with senior care practices, hospice care, and home care services is beneficial. Experience in caregiving roles that involve first aid knowledge is a plus. A background in childcare may be advantageous for those working with younger clients or families. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential for success in this role.
