Support Worker(s) required for a wheelchair-bound young female adult.

Our client is fully dependent on others and equipment for all position changes, mobility and personal care. She has cerebral palsy, which causes difficulty with movement, expressive communication and participating everyday tasks. Our client is nonverbal and uses an eye gaze to assist with some communication. The client lives in a lovely, adapted home in the Sittingbourne, Kent area.

Current shift hours

required are (and can be subject to change):

Waking night shifts (7 nights a week): 20.00pm to 08.00am. Waking night shifts are 1:1 care.

Potential Pay Rate:



Monday to Friday: Waking Night Shift: 17.00 per hour.

Saturday and Sunday: Waking Night Shift: 18.50 per hour.

Bank holidays: x 1.5 payrate.

We are recruiting for several support worker roles and are looking for people who are enthusiastic and engaging. If you have a fun and positive attitude, this is a great opportunity. Other duties include assisting with PEG diet; assisting with client related domestic tasks; facilitating play and any rehabilitation support as directed by the MDT (Physio, OT and SLT etc.).

Our client lives at home with her family, and she is a young adult who loves social interaction. She enjoys the outdoors, trips to the park, watching tv and spending time with her family. She is a fulltime wheelchair user, with a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV). We are therefore looking for someone who is empathetic, patient and able to support our client being out in the community.

The role will involve working within the family home in. You will be supported by a Case Manager, a Case Management Associate and a team of treating therapists.

You will be supporting our client during the day and night to allow respite for their family. The client has complex needs who is required to be monitored and assisted. You will be kind, positive and reliable with good timekeeping. Candidates should be fun, energetic and enthusiastic in the role, and be a team player. You will maintain client confidentiality and build a relationship of trust with our client and her family.

It is expected that you will assist in promoting her independent living program with guidance from her therapy team.

Key Responsibilities:



Delivering personalised care and support to clients with complex health conditions. Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and PEG diet. Administering medication and monitoring health conditions. Providing emotional support and companionship. Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients' conditions. Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications:



Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.

Proficient in spoken and written English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and willingness to drive clients WAV, when necessary, is preferred for day shifts, especially during the week.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to work the specified hours. Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes. A minimum of one year experience in complex care Valid right to work in the UK
