Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to join our team in providing high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance. As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with specific health needs.

Duties

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition. Assist with medication administration as per care plans and guidelines. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed for clients with specific challenges. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when required. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the supervising nurse or manager. Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks as necessary. Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is beneficial. A background in nursing or caregiving is an advantage. First aid certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including heavy lifting and mobility assistance. Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles requiring transportation of clients. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
