We are seeking positive, dedicated Senior Care Workers to provide and supervise care and support for Children in Looked After Care aged 8-17 years old.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about transforming lives, demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in the delivery of care and support for young people, and have a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all.
This role involves working closely to our Statement of Purpose and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements whilst creating a life changing environment for our young people.
Our home provides accommodation, care and support services for CYP who may have had traumatic upbringing resulting in behaviour that challenges.
Children will be 8-17 years old and in looked after care with a range of support needs including behaviour that challenges, physical sensory or learning disability, and/or autism spectrum disorder.
Responsibilities
Delivery of day-to-day care and support within the care home, including meal preparation, cleaning, washing and transportation of the young person as required
Building a safe, positive and preventative environment, in which young people are heard, understood and supported
Work to the highest standards of care are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements, including our Statement of Purpose, recording and reporting behaviours that require
Deliver care closely to the individuals care plan, promoting physical, emotional, and social development, recognising each young persons' individuality.
Administer medication as prescribed, and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Foster an empowering environment for children, encouraging their participation in decisions and activities that involve them, and relate to their personal growth.
Ensuring the highest level of safety for staff and children, always
Monitor the wellbeing of children in the facility, addressing / escalating any concerns promptly and appropriately.
Continuously look for ways to improve the way our care home works, to maximise best outcomes for staff and opportunities for children
To establish and maintain effective working relationships with children and young people and their families and where necessary, to encourage and promote involvement to achieve positive outcomes.
To work with clear, consistent boundaries which create a safe environment and wellness routine for young people
Engage young people in group and social activities
Contribute to a positive environment for all staff and young people
Positive attitude to training and personal development.
Experience
Experience within children's home care, social work, nursing home, or assisted living setting
