Purpose of the role:



To provide an emergency response service to clients living within Retirement Village properties

To provide highly individualized flexible support to people with disabilities or health needs living in the own homes

To respect the lifestyle and choices of clients to ensure they lead fulfilling lives

To work as part of the staffing services and be a team member of the Retirement Village Service providers to ensure that residents needs are fully met

Main Duties & Responsibilities:



To respond to alarm calls made by residents and ensure that appropriate support is give and emergency services, on call manager and where requested family members are appropriately contacted

To assist with daily living activities specified within the client Care plan.

To support clients to take part in social or community events as required

To monitor the wellbeing of clients

These may include but may not be limited to:



Responding to alarm calls in a time appropriate manner

To provide appropriate support to ensure that emergencies are dealt with appropriately and professionally, where necessary providing emergency first aid and liaising with relevant health service professionals

Monitoring Client Health and Wellbeing and ensuring all care notes are completed accurately

Arrange GP appointments at the request of residents

To make appropriate referrals to health care professionals after discussion with line manager

To maintain accurate response records and report appropriately as per company

Guidelines

Carry out tasks set out as per plans of care, reporting to the Clinical Lead

Providing a health assessment to residents who are feeling unwell, carrying out a clinical assessment (Blood pressure, temperature, urinalysis), and signposting to other services as appropriate, such as GP, 111, 999 or other.

Simple wound care, such as the change of bandages, monitoring of wounds, reporting concerns to the clinical lead and/or clinical director

Simple wound closure (Steri-strips)

Urinalysis

Blood Pressure Monitoring

Temperature Monitoring

Accept and deliver medication as needed for residents

Carry out daily well-being checks for residents discharged from hospital for 1 week, aiding where needed, such as compression stocking application, wound checks, personal care for 30 minutes per day, within the scope and direction from the clinical lead/clinical director.

Work within the domiciliary service in addition to the well-being responder service.

Working in partnership with other staff working in the village, care providers and health professionals and family members

Attending 3 monthly supervisions and staff meetings and annual appraisal. Attend meetings as and when required by the manager in order to support clients', the company, colleagues or own development

Attending annual training, which is provided by our in house training team

Working Conditions:



Emergency responder work will be split into morning and evening shifts, which will be flexible depending on the needs of the service; ensuring client needs are fully met.

Where possible a weekly schedule of regular working shifts will be agreed with your line manager.

Qualifications/Experience:



Experience is preferable but not always necessary, as full training will be provided including on-going career development training

To complete Care Certificate Qualification if equivalent qualification or experience not already gained

To work towards a minimum of NVQ2 if equivalent qualification not already gained

Applicants must be able to provide a minimum of three references; two of which must be professional and one character.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the right to live and work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship at this time.

All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS

Pay: 13.00 - 14.50 per hour

Day Range - Monday - Friday, alternative weekends
