Job Overview



We are seeking a

compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Complex Care Worker

to join our team at

Abimatic Care Ltd

. This role involves providing high-quality, person-centred care and clinical support to individuals with complex health needs within their own homes or supported living environments. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting individuals requiring specialist interventions, such as tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), suctioning, oxygen therapy, and palliative or end-of-life care.

You will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for each individual, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure all aspects of care are delivered safely and effectively.

Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesPersonal and Clinical Care



Provide personal care and support with daily living activities, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, respecting the dignity and preferences of each individual. Support clients with

complex health needs

, including but not limited to:

Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV)

Tracheostomy care and suctioning

Oxygen therapy and monitoring

PEG or enteral feeding

Bowel care and catheter management

Medication administration, including controlled drugs where authorised and trained

Monitoring vital signs

, recording oxygen saturation, and escalating concerns promptly. Follow detailed care plans and risk assessments, ensuring all clinical procedures are carried out in accordance with

NMC, NICE, CQC, and company standards

. Maintain accurate and timely records of care delivered, incidents, and observations using the organisation's digital care system (e.g. Logmycare, Connecteam,Atlas).

Emotional and Social Support



Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support to clients and their families, especially during palliative and end-of-life care. Support clients in engaging with social, leisure, and community activities to promote emotional well-being and inclusion.

Health and Safety



Ensure safe use of all

specialist equipment

, including hoists, profiling beds, suction machines, oxygen concentrators, and mobility aids, following appropriate training. Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control (IPC) procedures. Report and document any changes in a client's condition, incidents, or concerns immediately to the appropriate healthcare professional or line manager. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment, performing light housekeeping tasks as required.

Professional Development and Teamwork



Attend all

mandatory and specialist complex care training

(e.g. tracheostomy, PEG, suction, NIV, oxygen therapy). Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, District Nurses, GPs, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care. Participate in team meetings, supervision, and reflective practice sessions to maintain professional standards. Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with

Experience and Requirements



Minimum of

6-12 months of care experience

in domiciliary, residential, or clinical settings. Experience supporting clients with complex care needs (e.g. tracheostomy, PEG, NIV, suction) is

highly desirable

.

Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle

are essential due to travel requirements. Excellent communication, empathy, and observation skills. Ability to follow care plans accurately and report changes promptly. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and nights. Must be willing to undergo an

enhanced DBS check

and provide satisfactory references.

Desirable Qualifications



NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent). Up-to-date complex care competency certificates (training can be provided). Basic Life Support (BLS) and Moving & Handling certification.
