About the Role

A Care Worker in the Portsmouth area provides compassionate, person?centred support to adults who require assistance with daily living. This role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing while delivering high?quality care in clients' homes or community settings.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming Support clients with mobility, transfers, and use of mobility aids Assist with meal preparation, hydration, and nutritional needs Administer or prompt medication in line with care plans and training Offer emotional support, companionship, and social engagement Carry out light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping Maintain accurate records, including care notes and incident reports Follow individual care plans and report any changes in clients' needs Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and the wider care team Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety standards at all times

Skills & Experience

Previous care experience is helpful but

not essential

Requirements

Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, or shifts as required A driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred for community?based roles, but not always essential
