Our day respite service requires a dedicated and conscientious carer to join our friendly team on a part-time basis. We're seeking a caring and compassionate individual who enjoys interacting with older adults. We have a diverse client base, and some of our members may need additional support due to health conditions.
Candidates must be warm and friendly with a strong work ethic, a positive can-do attitude and a genuine passion for providing our members with high-quality care and support. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised and able to work independently and as part of a team.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as dressing, eating and toileting.
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as mopping, washing dishes and hoovering.
Assist in safe moving and handling techniques, transferring, repositioning and movement of clients.
Observe, monitor and record clients' physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff.
Organising suitable recreational activities for the Members.
Encourage and support members to participate in social and recreational activities.
Support the physical and emotional well-being of members by engaging in light conversation, reading and encouraging physical activity where possible.
To collect and drop members from their homes to our day respite service.
Administering oral and topical medication as prescribed by a doctor.
Maintaining records of all medication being administered.
Running errands and completing small tasks such as shopping for supplies.
You may be required to complete other duties, when necessary, at the discretion of management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Level 2 Health & Social Care
Administering medication
Driving 3+ years
Excellent interpersonal skills
The candidate will need to pass an enhanced DBS check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience working with older adults (50+) in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
Experience working in exercise, movement and dance with older adults (50+).
Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
First Aid Certificate
Safeguarding Certificates
