We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role involves delivering personalised care to enhance the wellbeing and independence of clients across a range of needs, such as dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and general senior care. The position is open to individuals with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives and who possess relevant experience or a willingness to learn. All roles are paid, including internships.
Responsibilities
Providing personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Assisting with medication administration in accordance with prescribed protocols
Supporting clients with meal preparation and ensuring nutritional needs are met
Managing behaviour effectively and employing behaviour management techniques where necessary
Offering companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a caring environment
Assisting with light housekeeping tasks related to care duties
Driving clients when required for appointments or outings
Ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times, including first aid procedures when necessary
Supporting clients with specialised needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care
Documenting care provided accurately in accordance with organisational policies
Experience
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care best practices is advantageous
Experience in medication administration and first aid certification is preferred
Familiarity with behaviour management techniques for challenging behaviours is beneficial
Experience in caregiving roles involving heavy lifting or physical assistance is advantageous
Childcare experience may be considered relevant for certain roles requiring additional support skills
Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving client transportation
