Job Introduction
Are you interested in helping to maintain the efficient flow of traffic on Lincolnshire's roads? Then this may be the job for you! We have a vacancy within the Traffic Signals team for a Career Grade Technician based at Lancaster House in Lincoln.
You will assist with the operation and maintenance of LCC's traffic signals through the use of cutting edge traffic control systems, investigate and respond to problems and incidents occurring on the road network and report and manage faults that occur with our signals and other intelligent transport systems that we operate.
There is a staff rota to provide coverage of our systems between 0730 - 1730, ensuring that network operations are managed effectively through use of adaptive control systems and CCTV and faults are reported in a timely manner - either from home or in our newly commissioned incident room in Lancaster House. Good communication skills are important for this role as you will be liaising closely with our maintenance contractor, the police and members of the public.
You will be joining a friendly, established team with many year's experience. We will provide mentoring and training tor you learn the art of traffic control and assist with your professional development. As a Career Grade post, there is the opportunity (subject to professional milestones being reached) to progress through from Assistant Technician (G3) to Technician (G5) through to Senior Technician (G7). A driving licence is desirable as site based work will form a significant part of this role.
