Career North are seeking to appoint a Qualified Careers Adviser and/or a Trainee Careers Adviser who will undertake a relevant Level 4 or 6 qualification in Careers Guidance, and work in schools across Sefton and Lancashire.

Applicants must hold a
full clean driving licence
and be prepared to work in Lancashire and Sefton. You must also be qualified to A Level or BTEC Level 3, and have Maths and English at GCSE Level 4/Grade C as minimum.
Applicants must have a genuine desire to work with young people and be committed to providing the highest level of careers guidance and support to enable young people to succeed.
Applicants must clearly state why they wish to undertake the apprenticeship and include their motivation to work with young people and any previous relevant or transferable experience.
Applicants must be prepared to deliver presentations to students in class size and large groups following a period of training and induction.

Prime Objectives of the Post:
To provide information, advice and guidance services to young people in pre- and post-16 education settings, in line with service level agreements.
Range of Duties:
1.
Deliver careers advice and guidance to young people, using a range of approaches including individual Career Conversations, group guidance/activity, telephone, text, email and web based technologies.
2.
Involve young people in the planning and review of services as agreed through service level agreements and the supervisor
3.
Deliver other information advice and information services as specified in the service level agreement, e.g. participation in parent/carer events, supporting school based careers activities
4.
Keep professional knowledge up to date and relevant to role
5.
Liaise with and make referrals to other agencies as appropriate
6.
Record client information in designated client information systems
7.
Positively promote the company's services to customers and service users
8.
Ensure that own and other colleagues are working in a safe and healthy environment and assess for potential risks, taking preventative action where appropriate

Carry out the requirements of the Contract with reasonable skill, care and diligence, and ensure all Career North records, procedures and policies, financial and business plans are not copied or disclosed to other bodies without the explicit agreement of the Managing Director.
Hours: 37.5 per week, term time only
Please note there are a range of opportunities available with Career North and they are all term time only, therefore the salary for all positions will be pro rata.
