Scale 6, currently 33,477 to 36,577 per annum


Hours per week: 37.5 hours

Fircroft is a residential college occupying a former Cadbury family home, set in six acres of beautiful grounds in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We were originally founded to provide educational opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged and excluded members of society. More than one hundred years on from the birth of Fircroft College, its mission of 'social justice' is more relevant than ever.

We are looking to appoint a Careers and Progression. The post holder will be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, personalised careers and progression support for our learners. You will coordinate careers education, advice, and employer engagement across the college, supporting both staff and students with up-to-date resources and events to improve learner destinations and progression.

To be considered for this role you must have a Level 4 IAG qualification or equivalent experience, along with experience in career planning, delivering careers sessions, and developing labour market resources. You will need the ability to work collaboratively and provide tailored advice to diverse learners, as well as a successful track record of building partnerships with employers. The successful candidate will have familiarity with career guidance frameworks and progression pathways, strong communication and organisational skills, and a clear commitment to adult learning and supporting positive learner outcomes.

The right person will be someone who enjoys working at a fast pace with a variety of different tasks, who is self-managed with a strong work ethic, who has a positive outlook and a 'can do' attitude and is a completer / finisher.
