The Careers Service forms part of the wider umbrella of Student Services based in the Bernard King Library and is made up of five teams:

Advisory Service
Careers Service
Counselling and Mental Health Service
Support Enquiry Zone (SEZ)
The University now seeks to appoint a Career Coach.
Reporting to the Careers Service Manager, you will work with recent/new Abertay graduates who face significant barriers to employment, supporting them to develop confidence, and progress towards a positive employability outcome(s), including:
A workplace experience/placement (insight into being at work/in the workplace, networking, learning work culture)
Voluntary placement (to update or develop key skills for an identified sector of choice)
A Graduate Mentor (offering advice, guidance, and encouragement from appropriate alumni)
A paid internship (part or full-time)
Employment (part or full-time - where suitable and realistic)
The role requires a qualified and experienced careers guidance practitioner, with an interest in working directly with graduates with disabilities, impairments, or lifestyle restrictions. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of key graduate attributes in relation to University students, along with experience of working on their own initiative as well as part of a small team. Familiarity with a coaching approach to guidance, and capability to develop excellent working relationships with clients and employers would be highly desirable.
