Multiple experienced staff needed, must be able to cover the SR2, SR3, SR5 and Houghton Le Spring area

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality care to individuals in need, including those with dementia and other health conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care, hospice care, and behaviour management, ensuring that clients receive the support they require in a safe and nurturing environment. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, medication administration, and providing emotional support to clients and their families.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with specific needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and progress.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in hospice care or home care settings is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to client care. Valid driver's licence is an advantage for transporting clients when needed. Certification in medication administration or relevant nursing qualifications is beneficial but not mandatory. A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and dignity at all times.
