Community Caregiver: Sutton
Home Care Assistance is hiring a community caregiver to work in a facility in Sutton. We strongly focus on continuity of care for our 1:1 clients. You do not need to be certified for this role. Experience with geriatrics is required. We have 8 hour and 12 hour day shifts available. The shift times are for 8am to 8pm and 12pm to 8pm.
Your typical day:
- Assist with one-on-one support for elderly resident
- Keep resident engaged and safe
- Assist at mealtimes
- All other tasks required by the care plan
- A passion for the job in helping others
- Companionship and friendship
- Engage in ROM exercise and mobility activities. Example: going for walks, folding clothing together and exercise programs...
- Connect with cognitive engagement to keep the client mentally stimulated. Example: puzzles, games, skill building and social engagement...
- must have experience with dementia patients
- must be ok with smoking inside the home
- Access to reliable transportation G License and valid insurance
- Demonstrated working experience with the elderly, knowledgeable with respect to their needs
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with residents, families, and visitors
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proof of valid Covid19 vaccines
- Speaking Italian is an asset
