We are seeking a Carer to provide essential support to people in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our clients, allowing them to maintain their independence while receiving the care they require

Purpose:

To support in ensuring that Diamond Care provides the highest quality of care, promoting independence and supporting clients to remain living a fulfilling life within their own home environment and community.

Duties



Provide a professional service when delivering care at home to clients. Working, most commonly, on a one-to-one basis with people providing support to them in their own homes and assisting them to maintain as high a level of independence as possible. Assist with all aspects of personal care as required e.g. assisting with washing/showering, dressing, grooming, and continence support to help clients maintain their hygiene and comfort. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties such as "cleaning as you go" and laundry. Provide emotional support, engage in conversation, and build positive relationships with clients and their families. Help clients with walking, using mobility aids, and engaging in physical and social activities to promote their independence and well-being. Work with other members of the team to give clients the most informed and professional support possible and in such a way which will enable them to express their needs, put forward their views and voice their opinions. Monitor clients' health and well-being, administering medication (where trained), and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate individuals and management. Maintain accurate records of care provided. Update management after every shift to any changes in care plans, preferences, additional information that may be required for other carers and those important to clients. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in caregiving. Be prepared to work shifts at short notice, as required, to cover for other staff when unavailable e.g. Illness, holidays etc Be familiar with the SSSC codes of practice and work within the team to meet those standards. Work to the principles of the Health and Social Care Standards, maintain knowledge of and work within the policies and guidelines of Diamond Care. To take on any other responsibilities or tasks which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed. Always maintain confidentiality, both during and out of working hours. Represent Diamond Care in a positive manner at all times, acting responsibly & professionally in order to carry out your duties to the highest standard.

Remaining composed and patient, especially in stressful situations and with individuals who may be experiencing distress.

Using excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

Attention to Detail:

Being thorough in providing care and in documenting observations about clients' physical and psychological needs.

Dependability and Reliability:

Being dependable for visits, appointments, and tasks, ensuring continuity of care.

Adaptability:

Be able to respond to immediate and evolving needs of clients, be flexible in care delivery making effective and timely decisions. Be willing to learn new ideas, practices and ways of doing things and be willing to pass on any areas of concern or ideas for change to management. Previous experience as a caregiver in home care, assisted living, or hospice care settings is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient care practices. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required. A valid driver's licence

Pay



12.60 per hour plus mileage at 45p per mile. Annual Performance Bonus
