Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility support. Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being. Monitor and document changes in clients' health status and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Support clients with Alzheimer's or dementia care by employing effective behaviour management techniques. Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used for client safety. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving, senior care, or related fields such as nursing or hospice care is preferred. Knowledge of first aid practices and ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Experience with home care settings is an advantage. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy. A valid driving licence is desirable for transportation duties. Willingness to undergo background checks as required by regulatory bodies.
