We require an enthusiastic, reliable, caring and active PA (inline with Equality Act) to assist a lady with complex health needs, to support with all aspects of daily living.
From the client:
I'm a disabled Mum of 2 living with Muscular Dystrophy. MD is a progressive muscle wasting condition which means I use a powered wheelchair full-time and need assistance with most aspects of daily life. Despite the impact Muscular Dystrophy, it has not stopped me from achieving my goals. I'm very much a grabber of life by the horns kind of person and intend to experience as much as possible out of life, by taking opportunities as they arise and not letting life pass me by.
I'm looking to expand my care team to support me in living best life! Your workdays will vary from supporting me on an average day at home, attending appointments, to family outings and even the opportunity to join me and my children on respite breaks off grid in forest retreats where we take long walks and just enjoy being present in the moment, surrounded by nature.
Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
? Moving & Handling
? Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) support, Cough Assist & suctioning support
? Additional clinical tasks which will be discussed at interview
? Personal Care
? Meal preparation
? Medication administration
? Transportation to hospital appointments / family outings / respite breaks
? Support within and outside of the home.
? Getting in touch with your creative side as the client enjoys arts & crafts (particularly rock painting, clay moulding and cross stitch)
This role will require someone who is comfortable working in a family home with children and pets (cat & dog) present. Candidate must be over 25 years old (in line with insurance policy) and have a clean Full UK driving licence to drive the client's adapted vehicle.
Previous caring experience is
not
required for the right candidate as full training will be provided, but a good attitude towards people with disabilities is a must.
Enhanced DBS will be paid for by the employer.
Being fluent in spoken and written English is essential
Excellent time-keeping skills and ability to be flexible around the client's needs.
