Job Overview

We are looking for a caring, energetic Personal Assistant (PA) to support our daughter who is 17 years old.

Isabella is a vibrant and curious young girl who enjoys being out and about. She has memberships to Drusillas, Knockhatch, the mini railway, and David Lloyd, and her favourite activities include swimming, listening to music, and riding rollercoasters!

Support Needs

Isabella is non-verbal and does not use PECS, but she communicates her needs effectively by leading you to what she wants. She requires support with self-care, feeding, and mobility. While she is mobile, she can tire easily and uses a special needs buggy when needed. She does not have behavioural difficulties but may become impatient if she feels ignored.

Working Hours & Payment

We are looking for someone to work alternate Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, with occasional Sundays. We have been awarded 6 hours per week of direct payments, and the funding will be a mix of private and direct payment support.

Please note the applicant must be female. (Exemption for gender is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1, Schedule 9)

Responsibilities

Assist client with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Help with mobility to maintain client independence. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding client needs and progress. Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition promptly.

Requirements

Previous experience in caregiving and adults/children with special needs is preferred but not essential Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to care plans meticulously. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. A valid driving licence and own car is mandatory. Enhanced DBS check may be required depending on the client's needs.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
