Aims: To support the Facilities Manager by carrying out the required and various duties around the Church premises as set out below.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To provide practical support and assistance to the Facilities Manager as required
To establish effective working relationships with staff and leaders of church organisations and other relevant groups
To perform general duties including the setting up of church facilities and equipment for Sunday services, church organisations, community and other groups plus special events. This will include the provision of public address and multimedia systems and the general cleaning of rooms after use.
To cooperate with the leaders of organisations and other groups to ensure equipment is stored away after use and that adequate storage space is available.
To undertake such other cleaning throughout the premises both interior and external, as directed by the Facilities Manager (in conjunction with volunteers and/or specialist cleaning contractors if such are required)
To keep an up-to-date register of cleaning to be undertaken and cleaning completed.
To maintain a register of cleaning material stock and advise when reordering is required
To undertake general maintenance of the complex (both internal and external) and grounds, including grass cutting
To report any necessary maintenance work beyond his/her capabilities to the Facilities Manager
To advise the Facilities Manager regarding the condition and usage of all Church property and equipment, highlighting any issues that may require attention
To ensure that appropriate temperatures are maintained throughout the premises
To be a keyholder, responsible for the opening and locking up of the premises in association with a team of volunteers
To be responsible for accepting role related deliveries to the premises and the disposal of rubbish. To ensure that Church rubbish bins are available for rubbish collection and recover after being emptied on the appropriate dates
To engage with initial and/or refresher training as deemed relevant to this role by the Facilities Manager
Any other reasonable duties or requests as made by the Facilities Manager
