We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated handyperson who will be key in maintaining our two community houses, to ensure they are welcoming and safe environments for all the community, staff and guests.

Thornleigh House has an active Salesian Community and is the centre of our Salesian presence in the UK. It is also the home to our head office administration, publications and media departments. St Joseph's, across the road from Thornleigh House, is a residential home for elderly Salesian priests.

Duties will include:

Maintaining the property and grounds including liaising with contractors;

Carrying out checks and maintaining Health and Safety records;

Carrying out minor repairs, general maintenance and painting;

Ensuring heating, lighting and drainage systems are kept in good working order;

Driving people to appointments and running errands.

You will be responsible for providing efficient, effective and flexible caretaking support to the Community houses and for ensuring that the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards.

You must have a clean driving license, be well presented with a friendly nature and supportive of the ethos and charitable work of the Salesians of Don Bosco.

: 25 hours per week, 9.00am to 2.00pm (Monday to Friday)

6.6 weeks holiday, uniform, contributory pension scheme
