To be responsible for the security of the site and buildings and to assist with health and safety, minor maintenance, vehicle maintenance and housekeeping of the School, and to support the boarding community related to the above.
Main responsibilities and duties:
To be the primary point of contact for emergency assistance 'out of hours' when boarders are on site.
Unlocking and locking up the school - Monday to Friday, and on weekends as per a shared rota
Fire Marshal (site)
Manage School heating system
Carry out site checks
Ensure that in adverse weather paths and driveway are clear and usable.
Be fully knowledgeable of the Health and Safety regulations in the area of responsibilities (training will be provided as required).
Inform and liaise with the Estates Manager on all matters of Health and Safety.
Promote and carry out safe working practices at all times.
Operate all machinery, equipment and vehicles in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions and Health and Safety regulations.
Possess a thorough understanding of the legislation relating to those chemicals and dangerous substances relevant to the area of responsibilities.
Take any necessary corrective action in response to any breakdown or defects to equipment or machinery. Inform the Estates Manager of the actions taken.
Ensure all relevant facilities, plant, buildings, machinery and equipment are appropriately secured when not in use.
Make recommendations for improving the best use of resources for all caretaking tasks.
Support the e?cient use of resources.
Assist in the moving of equipment and materials and carry out any tasks necessary to the smooth running of the site.
