Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, practical and caring School Caretaker to join our friendly nursery team in the heart of Newham. This is a vital role in ensuring our setting remains safe, clean and welcoming for our children, families and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Opening and closing the nursery premises each day Ensuring the site is safe, secure and well maintained Carrying out basic repairs, maintenance and DIY tasks Maintaining cleanliness of outdoor areas and shared spaces Managing waste, deliveries and stock safely Supporting health and safety checks, risk assessments and fire safety procedures Liaising with contractors when required Responding to any issues promptly and professionally
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous caretaking, facilities or site management experience (desirable) Be practical, proactive and dependable Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures Be able to work independently and manage their time effectively Be friendly, approachable and comfortable working in a childcare environment Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
