Proof of Manchester Residency - Roles at Grade 1 to 3, traineeships, or apprenticeships will initially only be advertised to Manchester residents and internal candidates. An applicant is classed as a resident of Manchester if they live within the boundaries of the City of Manchester; i.e. Any Council Tax liability for their home would be with Manchester City Council. Driving Licence - The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.
Casual Car Documentation- The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
The Caretaker within Homeless Temporary Accommodation Services in Manchester, has a key role to play to making sure our Hostels are maintained to a high-quality, safe, and sustainable standard. About the Candidate
Essential requirements for the role:
Ability to find solutions to situations that are presented of a routine nature.
Ability to interpret basic rules and guidelines and know when something needs to be referred to supervisor.
Effectively maintain the internal and external appearance and cleanliness of buildings. Be able to carry out inspections, liaising with the customers and reporting identified issues
Must hold a valid UK driving license
Desirable requirements that would be useful in this role:
Possessing a friendly and non-judgemental approach to citizens is a key requirement of this role because for a vulnerable adult and families who have been homeless, being made to feel welcome in a safe and clean environment is the first step to recovery.
The role holder's willingness to work alongside volunteers and support the programme of activities delivered on site will be a requirement of the role.
A flexible approach and a willingness to respond promptly to tasks that may occur outside your daily routines will be required in this role.
