The role is part of the Art School's site team supporting its Cleaning, Caretaking and Security functions.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities below are the normal expectations associated with the post.
General:
Day-to-day site based activities: caretaking, "lifting and shifting", general cleaning of premises on a daily basis and after school events.
Undertaking regular checks to ensure that all toilets are kept fully functioning, and reporting any problems to the site team.
Assisting with basic site maintenance and repairs as appropriate
Assisting site team with locking up premises, including checking if all rooms are empty and making sure that students, staff, visitors and contractors are out at the end of the day and alarms are set.
Making sure that windows, lights and heaters are turned off at the end of day
Reporting all H&S and security issues to Site Manager
Acting as the emergency on-site contact when necessary and for out of hours call outs (along with the site team)
Occasional cover of Reception desk.
Health &Safety responsibilities:
Ensuring all Health & Safety and COSHH protocols are followed
Enforce other aspects of good housekeeping
To report all health and safety breaches to the Site Manager.
Other duties:
Undertake other duties of a reasonable nature, as may be determined by the post holder's line manager from time to time, in consultation with the post holder.
Miscellaneous
It is the duty of the post holder not to act in a prejudicial or discriminatory manner towards members of staff, students, visitors or members of the public. The post holder should also counteract such practice or behavior by challenging and reporting it.
