We have a position available for a Caretaker to join the team at Wrexham Golf Club, this is a job share position.

The successful candidate will assist in the upkeep of all buildings on site and in the day to day cleaning of the building along with the operation of the biomass heating system. This will involve responding to maintenance requests from the Manager, assisting with renovation projects and attending to any planned daily maintenance tasks.

Alongside this, you will work with the Course team to ensure the appearance of the Club is kept up to the highest standard expected at Wrexham. Duties will include weeding borders, clearing pathways and maintaining small flowerbeds around the Club.

This is a permanent, part-time position to work variable hours. You will work with two other Caretakers on a rota basis, and will require one weekend in three. The hours of work will be 7am to 12noon. Average hours will be 24 per week.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning of the Clubhouse internally (along with the Green sheds and on course toilets).

To control the biomass heating system throughout the Clubhouse making sure it is functioning correctly and liaise with the Manager to order fuels when necessary.

To keep clean all drains around the Clubhouse (ensure maintenance needs of sceptic tank and fat trap are met).

Weekly test of water, including legionella testing as required.

Ensure pressure shoe cleaner is maintained and area is kept clean and tidy at all times.

Ensure the Club is kept clean and free of debris

Complete any necessary paperwork following repairs and maintenance.

What experience you will need

Practical ability to use basic hand tools and monitor the use and control of cleaning machinery and equipment.

Able to implement and monitor sound routine maintenance practices.

Previous experience in caretaking and maintenance would be an advantage.

What skills you will need

Driving licence is essential, as you will be required to use the buggies at the Club.

Proactive and able to work on their initiative and within a team, with a willingness to learn.

Strong communication skills.
