We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker looking for a Part Time Weekend job, to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of our premises.
The ideal candidate should have a full UK driving licence, or live within close proximity to Aylesbury Town Centre for ease of access to work due to time sensitivity of the job.
Be responsible for ensuring that the environment remains tidy, safe, and welcoming. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained facility through diligent cleaning and upkeep. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable, though training can be provided for the right candidate. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. This role requires flexible hours for weekdays and weekends (
Saturdays & Sundays are compulsory
).
Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning duties across various areas of the premises, including offices, communal spaces, and outdoor areas
Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and waste disposal
Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used efficiently and stored properly
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance issues or safety hazards and report them promptly
Assist with minor repairs or liaise with external contractors for larger maintenance tasks
Maintain organised storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment
Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for all visitors and staff
Support with setting up rooms or spaces for events or meetings as required
Opening up the building for users weekday mornings and
(Monday to Friday 8:30am - 9am and Saturday - Sunday 9:30am - 5:30pm)
Qualifications
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, health & safety standards, and use of cleaning equipment is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided
Time keeping highly important
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous, but again not mandatory
