Role Summary



The Carpenter is responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry and joinery work across Housing Association residential properties. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive repairs, installations, and maintenance to ensure homes remain safe, secure, and maintained to a professional standard.

Key Responsibilities



Carry out routine, reactive, and emergency carpentry repairs within Housing Association properties. Install, repair, or replace internal and external doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves, window boards, locks, and ironmongery. Fit and repair kitchen units, worktops, shelves, cupboards, and storage systems. Undertake structural and non-structural carpentry such as stud walls, partitions, boxing-in, and flooring repairs. Repair or replace timber components affected by wear, water damage, or general deterioration. Conduct inspections of carpentry issues and identify appropriate repair solutions. Ensure all carpentry work meets building regulations, health & safety standards, and Housing Association requirements. Maintain accurate logs of completed work, materials used, and any follow-up actions needed. Liaise professionally with tenants, housing officers, and maintenance teams. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment. Maintain company tools, PPE, and vehicles to required standards.

Skills & Qualifications



NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent trade qualification). Proven experience in carpentry within social housing, residential maintenance, or construction. Strong understanding of both first-fix and second-fix carpentry. Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely. Good knowledge of safeguarding and working in occupied homes. CSCS card (preferred). Full UK driving licence ( required).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 31,000.00-39,000.00 per year
