Job Description
Second Fix Carpenter
You are responsible for the installation and finishing of interior fixtures and fittings after the initial structural work has been completed. Your role focuses on precision carpentry tasks that enhance both the function and aesthetics of a building's interior. This includes fitting doors, skirting boards, architraves, staircases, cabinetry, and other detailed woodwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Install internal doors, door linings, locks, and ironmongery Fit skirting boards, architraves, window boards, and decorative mouldings Install stair components such as handrails, balustrades, and newel posts Assemble and fit kitchen units, wardrobes, and other built-in furniture Read and interpret technical drawings and plans to ensure accurate installations Work closely with site managers and other trades to ensure timely completion of tasks Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently Maintain high standards of finish and workmanship Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Carry out snagging and final touch-ups as required
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a second fix or finishing carpenter NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent) preferred CSCS card
Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 1 month
Pay: 25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 per week
