Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects including residential and commercial builds. This role requires proficiency in using both hand and power tools, as well as a keen eye for detail and quality craftsmanship. The Carpenter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and other materials.

Responsibilities

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood or other materials. Fabricate custom pieces based on project specifications. Assemble components accurately while ensuring high standards of quality. Perform roofing tasks as required, ensuring proper installation and waterproofing. Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Plumb structures to ensure they are level and aligned correctly. Carry out painting tasks as needed to finish projects. Conduct heavy lifting when necessary to transport materials or equipment. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure seamless project completion. Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to carpentry work. Strong skills in joinery techniques and methods. Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical documents accurately. Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous but not essential. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
