Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects from residential to commercial. This role requires proficiency in using power tools, performing heavy lifting, and executing tasks with precision and attention to detail. The Carpenter will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and installing structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and other materials.

Duties

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. Perform joinery tasks including cutting, shaping, and assembling wood components. Carry out roofing tasks ensuring proper installation and maintenance. Use power tools safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with building codes and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections of work areas to maintain cleanliness and safety. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as electricians and plumbers as needed. Assist in the planning stages of projects by providing input on materials and methods.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in construction. Strong knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job. Proficient in joinery techniques and practices. Experience with painting and finishing techniques is a plus. Familiarity with roofing systems and installation methods. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
