As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a
skilled Carpenter
to join our growing team and contribute to our construction and retrofit projects throughout the Midlands.
Responsibilities
Carpenters at Energies of the Future are responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling wooden and other structural materials used in construction. Key duties include:
Cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and sheet materials for building frameworks, floors, roofs, walls, staircases, and doors.
Using other materials such as plastic, metal, or composite materials where appropriate.
Installing wooden fittings, doors, windows, skirting boards, and furniture components.
Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and site instructions.
Measuring, marking out, and preparing materials for construction and installation.
Repairing or replacing damaged wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings.
Operating hand tools and power tools safely and maintaining them in good condition.
Working with construction and retrofit teams to ensure projects are completed to high standards of safety and quality.
Complying with all relevant health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Skills
Proven experience with fabrication, assembly, carpentry, joinery, roofing, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks regularly
Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and procedures
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good problem-solving skills with the capacity to adapt to changing project requirements
