Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and be adept at various construction tasks. This role involves working on diverse projects, including residential and commercial builds, where precision and attention to detail are paramount. The Carpenter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and other materials.

Responsibilities

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. Work on roofing projects, ensuring proper installation and safety measures are adhered to. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks. Perform heavy lifting as required for various construction activities. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians and masons, to ensure project completion. Assemble furniture and cabinetry according to specifications. Conduct painting tasks as needed to finish projects. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Skills

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to carpentry. Strong understanding of electrical systems is advantageous. Experience with masonry work is a plus. Ability to fabricate custom pieces based on project requirements. Competent in painting techniques for finishing touches on projects. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to plumb structures accurately. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and long hours on-site. Good communication skills for effective teamwork.
