Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of carpentry duties, including the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of wooden structures and fittings across residential and commercial properties.

This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship in accordance with UK building regulations and health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings and building plans. Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood and other materials accurately. Install internal doors, skirting boards, staircases, flooring, and other fixtures. Carry out maintenance and repair work on existing woodwork and fittings. Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely. Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and building regulations. Liaise with site managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently. Maintain a clean and organised work area and report any issues or hazards.

Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner within the UK construction industry. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent qualification) is preferred. Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and joinery methods. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines. Full UK driving license preferred.

Working Conditions

Based on-site or various client locations across the Midlands. Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday (overtime may be required). Work may involve outdoor conditions and manual handling.
