Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with experience in using both hand and power tools. This role involves constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The Carpenter will work on various projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Construct, install, and repair structures such as frameworks, flooring, and cabinetry using wood and other materials. Fabricate custom pieces according to specifications and design plans. Assemble furniture and fixtures with precision, ensuring all components fit correctly. Perform joinery tasks to create strong connections between different parts of structures. Carry out painting and finishing work to enhance the appearance of completed projects. Conduct electrical installations as required for specific projects. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools are stored properly after use. Lift heavy materials and equipment safely, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion within deadlines.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficient in using hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels) and power tools (e.g., drills, sanders). Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in carpentry. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of electrical installations is advantageous but not essential. A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
